As a nation is reborn, a destiny unfolds from the streets of Tokat to the trenches of Gallipoli. As the First World War pounds at the empire’s gates, the Ottoman provinces are filled with internal enemies who see the war as an opportunity. When literature teacher Mehmet Sadık arrives in Tokat for his new assignment, an uneasy calm hangs over the city, like the silence before a storm. In Tokat, where even the smallest disputes can ignite major conflicts, patriotic youngsters rise to action, first to save their city, then their homeland.
